RING-A RING-A ROSES
Ring-a Ring-a Roses is inspired by the German play Reigen, written by Arthur Schnitzler. The original was published in 1900, but explores a topic that is inseparable to the human race – sex and its pseudo moralities. Its current relevance thus lies unbeaten. This inspired version has been scripted by V. Balakrishnan and Meera Sitaraman. Set in our own Chennai, the play explores the lives of ten people from backgrounds that are diverse- who meet by chance or plan and have a physical relation. The play through its subtle humour and tragedy, questions the morals and ethics we attach to the most primeval human desire.
